I am a 37 year old mom of 5 and step mom of one: 1 boy and 5 girls. Being a mom of 6 can be a crazy at times. I am a primary school teacher who loves my job working with special needs children. I love seeing them achieve their gains and reaching their goals. This makes me very happy. I love children; the joys you get from children makes your life worth all the struggles. When I am not busy with my own children or my school children, I like to crochet outfits and hats for my girls and friends. As for who I am, I am not really sure. One day I will figure it out.
Having a child 2.5 months after I turned 22 was difficult; living far away from family and friends being on my own was as struggle at times. Having a baby that was high needs kept me on my toes. After a few ER trips, it was discover at 7 weeks my son was in heart failure and very close to losing his life. I am so thankful for going with “my gut” and fighting to find out what was wrong with my son. Two weeks later, I met Dr Benson and handed my small 8lb, 2.5 month old baby to a person i had just met and had to trust that he would make the correct decisions for care. There wasn’t time for pre op.; no time to think. For the next 15 years, mine and my son Branden’s lives have been an up and down roller coaster. The heart world became our new life.
